A bit about bits
Going bit shopping tomorrow! Tell me about what bit YOU use... What is your horses level of training? What discipline do you ride?

I will be looking for french link snaffles, and a cavalry bit for the Mounted police horses!
I use an elevator on my draft mare. She isn't finished yet, but we are getting there. I hope to get her totally neck reinging by winter and get her to a shank bit. When I show her in western pleasure I use a 3 piece snaffle with a roller.
My other horses use a shank snaffle for western. My QH gets a pelham for fox hunting, and my warmblood goes in a snaffle.
I start them off with a myler snaffle and progress on to a Myler HBT Shank Comfort Snaffle (MB 01). I really like the Mylers and it's the only mouthpiece I've found that my horse doesn't try and get his tongue over so he must like it too. I tried several different bits with him always putting his tongue over them before getting this one.
